šŸ“ Daily Log

Document every day. Even bad ones. Especially bad ones.

šŸ“‹ How This Works

The Format: 4 sections per day

  • Did - What you actually accomplished (be honest)
  • Learned - Anything new, even small realizations
  • Blocked - What's stopping you (or write "nothing")
  • Tomorrow - Top 1-3 priorities for next day

The Rules:

  1. Log every single day - no exceptions
  2. Write before going to bed
  3. Be honest - this is for you, not for show
  4. Even "bad" days deserve a log
  5. Keep tomorrow's list short (1-3 items max)

Goal: Never break the chain.

Consistency is Everything

The daily log is the single most important habit. Miss the workout - fine. Skip the extra LeetCode - okay. But NEVER skip the log. This is your anchor.

šŸ’” Tips for Better Logging

  1. Time it right - Log right before bed, not next morning
  2. Be specific - "Completed Storal monitoring dashboard" not "worked on stuff"
  3. Capture failures too - "Failed to solve medium LeetCode, will retry tomorrow"
  4. Track patterns - Re-read weekly to spot trends
  5. Celebrate small wins - Even 15 productive minutes counts
  6. Use "blocked" section - Writing problems down often reveals solutions

šŸŽÆ What Good Logs Look Like

Good Example:

Did:
- Solved 2 LeetCode easy (two-sum, valid-parentheses)
- Studied AZ-104 networking section 2 hours
- Fixed Storal monitoring alert bug

Learned:
- Hash maps make two-sum O(n) instead of O(n²)
- Azure VNet peering has transitive routing limits

Blocked:
- Waiting on client feedback for Jin 4.0 requirements

Tomorrow:
- 1 LeetCode medium
- Continue AZ-104 (storage section)
- Storal load testing

Bad Example:

Did: stuff
Learned: things
Blocked: no
Tomorrow: more stuff

Be specific. This is for your future self.
